The National SEPA Committee met on December 13, 2011 to follow the progress made both in the negotiations of the European Regulation establishing a single end-date for the migration to the SEPA credit transfer and direct debit and in the preparatory work accomplished at the national level.

The National SEPA Committee met on 10 June 2011 to examine the state of the migration to SEPA in France in relation to the suggested SEPA end-dates of the EU Regulation currently under discussion between the Council and European Parliament.

Press release of January 14, 2011

At its meeting on January 13, 2011, the national SEPA Committee analysed the legislative proposal on SEPA migration end dates put forward by the EU Commission and examined the state of the migration to SEPA in France. The national Committee welcomed the proposed schedule for the completion of the migration to the SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) Scheme by June 2013, and to the SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) Scheme by June 2014. It nonetheless identified some difficulties regarding certain aspects of the EU legislative proposal.

Press release of June 3, 2010

At his meeting held on June 3, 2010, the national SEPA Committee examined the state of the migration to SEPA in France. It acknowledged the considerable efforts made by public administrations which will lead at the beginning of 2011 to a highly significant share of SEPA Credit Transfers. The Committee also confirmed the launch of the SEPA Direct Debit as from November 1st, 2010. Clarifications are needed from European public authorities, in particular from the newly-created SEPA Council on several issues.

The National SEPA Committee held a meeting on 17 December 2009 and has measured the level of the migration to SEPA in France. Besides, it continues its work to prepare the launch of the SEPA Direct Debit in France in November 2010, as decided its April meeting. Press release.

 

On 29th April 2009, The National SEPA Committee decided the date of the launch of the SEPA Direct Debit in France.

The National SEPA Committee held a meeting on 25 November 2008 and adopted its first annual migration report, which assesses the beginning of France’s migration to SEPA. It encouraged all actors to pursue and intensify their efforts for a smooth migration, and appealed to remove the uncertainties regarding the start of the SDD as soon as possible.

The National SEPA Committee held a meeting on 19 March 2008. A new step of the project has started: the migration phase. The Committee will monitor the take-up of the SEPA Credit Transfer.

The National SEPA Committee held a press conference on the 23 January 2008 announcing the launch of the SEPA Credit Transfer. 

At its 11 October 2007 meeting, the National SEPA Committee adopted the second version of France’s migration plan to the new SEPA payment instruments.

At its third meeting, the National SEPA Committee adjusted the direct debit migration timetable, defined a communication plan and announced the updating of the migration plan for October.

At its 27 October 2006 meeting, the National SEPA Committee adopted the first version of France’s migration plan to the new SEPA payment instruments.

At its first meeting of 7 April 2006, the National SEPA Committee decided that France would have drawn up a SEPA migration plan by October 2006. Five working groups were set up to work on this plan.

The Banque de France and the French Banking Federation announce the creation of the National SEPA Committee, which is responsable for the migration of France to SEPA. The Committee is composed of representatives of all stakeholders in the project: public administrations, companies, merchants, consumers and banks, as well as members of Parliament and a representative of the Economic and Social Council.
